The safety and well-being of everyone involved in our activities are always our top priority. After much consideration and with heavy hearts, we’ve made the difficult decision to pause the ITDS event for 2025.

While we are incredibly grateful for the wonderful support we’ve received from so many over the years, we’ve reached a point where running an event of this scale requires professional expertise and resources beyond what our volunteer club can currently provide. The legal responsibilities and detailed planning needed to meet today’s safety standards are significant, and we must be realistic about what we can manage safely.

Please know that this decision was not made lightly. We understand how special this event is to participants, volunteers, and the community. That’s why we are committed to exploring alternative ways to keep the spirit of ITDS alive.

 

Requirements for Booking for In The Drivers Seat:

To successfully register for the In The Drivers Seat Program you must comply with the following requirements:

• Be Visually Impaired

• Be 16 years of age or over (drivers between 16 & 18 years of age MUST have parent/guardian permission and consent)

• Be willing to provide your Name, Address, Date of Birth, Telephone Number, Email Address

• Be willing to provide the Name of a sighted reader who has been able to assist you with the legal documents of this application process.

Upon your successful application a confirmation will be sent to you either by email or by letter. Under no circumstances can late applications be considered.

PLEASE NOTE: There are only 15 slots available for each driving session. We operate on a "first come first served" basis so we request that you get your booking in early. During the booking process we will also request a variety of different preferences for your booking times to ensure we are able to facilitate your needs on the day to the best of our ability.
